The used forklift market continues to show notable shifts in both inventory and values. In August, used forklift inventory levels maintained a 7-month-long upward trend, despite posting a slight 3.18% month-over-month (M/M) decrease. Year-over-year (YOY), inventory was up a significant 27.67%, reflecting increased availability across categories.
Among equipment types, the used cushion tire forklift category experienced the most pronounced changes. It recorded the largest M/M inventory decrease at 3.64% but also led all forklift categories with the largest YOY increase at 30.85%.
Asking Values
Asking values for used forklifts remained relatively flat, trending sideways in August. The market saw a 0.62% M/M decline and a 3.57% YOY decrease.
- Cushion tire forklifts showed the steepest M/M drop, down 1.98%.
- Pneumatic-tire forklifts posted the largest YOY asking value decrease, falling 5.09%.
Auction Values
On the auction side, values extended their 7-month downward trend, dropping 0.54% M/M and 6.13% YOY in August. However, not all categories moved in the same direction:
- Cushion tire forklifts bucked the trend with a 2.88% M/M increase.
- Pneumatic-tire forklifts took the hardest hit YOY, down 8.45%.
